400,000 SQ FT PLANT, 140 NEW JOBS

Ground breaking for the first Scrimtec plant is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2007. After reviewing 49 sites in 25 counties we settled on a 260-acre parcel of land outside of Meridian, Mississippi. We selected Meridian because of the availability of raw materials, its proximity to transportation, and nearby institutions that could offer employee training.  The plant will occupy 400,000 square feet and, at capacity, will employ 140 directly and 168 indirectly. Most of these jobs will be in the engineering and technical area.  The plant will operate under state-of-the–art controls and will be subject to the new Federal MACT laws, ensuring a clean environment for the surrounding area.
